Ghana prepared to dispatch e-visa framework in 2020

Ghana is going to have an electronic visa (e-visa) system from 2020. This was announced by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He said the government would be implementing the e-visa) system next year as Ghana is on its way to computerise most of its processes.
Vice President Bawumia revealed this at the first Regional Congress on Women Empowerment in the tourism sector this week in Accra.
The e-visa is a visa issued without a physical label to a traveller’s passport. It works like how the current National Health Insurance works. This will become an alternative to the physical visa label they put in a passport.
The e-visa will be obtained via the internet and when it is approved, the applicant downloads the PDF and prints. This would then be presented at immigration checkpoints for it to be scanned for verification.
