2022
Distance Learning Merit Scholarships at University of Leicester
For the
academic year 2022–2023, applications are being accepted by the University ofLeicester. For eligible UK and international applicants who are willing to pay
the course fee, this Distance Learning Merit Scholarships offers a reduction on
the tuition.
As
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland University College, the university was
established in 1921. Thomas Fielding Johnson, a local businessman, donated the
land for the university in order to provide a living memorial for all area
residents who gave their lives in the First World War. The university's motto,
Ut vitam habeant, which means "so that they may have life," reflects
this. Exams for degrees granted by the University of London's external program
were taken by students who were initially admitted to the college in 1921. The
organization changed its name to University College, Leicester in 1927, and 30
years later the college received its Royal Charter. It now has the authority to
grant its own degrees and the status of a university.
