2022
Fully Funded St Gallen Symposium Global Leadership Challenge
The Fully
Funded St. Gallen Symposium Global Leadership Challenge (GLC) aims to support
up-and-coming leaders in developing the character and wisdom necessary for
responsible leadership that changes the world. This type of leadership doesn't
just seek to satisfy personal ambition; it also promotes the sustainable growth
of societies. GLC is a joint project of the University of Oxford's Social
Sciences Division and the Oxford Character Project, as well as the St. Gallen
Symposium, and it is funded by our Knowledge Partners, Main Partners HCL
Technologies, the Lemann Foundation, and the Templeton World Charity
Foundation.
The main
theme of GLC 2022, which runs from December 8–12, is "A New Generational
Contract." The concept of a generational contract encapsulates the idea
that different generations rely on one another to help one another at various
times of their lives. It reminds us that we have a duty to be good descendants
and ancestors and to examine the repercussions of our activities on all
generations, and is best summarized as "what generations owe each
other" in areas like education, environmental protection, and health.
GLC 2022
will bring together 100 potential young leaders and 20 Senior Advisors to
address these issues. They will work to accomplish the Sustainable Development
Goals by combining responsible leadership and practical measures (SDGs). The
five-day challenge, which integrates design thinking and character education,
will provide young leaders the values and abilities they need to create a
sustainable future.
